The Gift of This Year

VantageShift V leading to wrapped gift

As I sit in my backyard contemplating the beauty and wonder of a sky filled with colorful storm clouds, I realize that this was a year of gratitude for me. The list of what I have to be thankful for is long, but here are a few that stand out from my practice.

I’m grateful for my amazing clients. Our partnerships brought me the joy of working with them to overcome challenges and find their versions of success in ways that were creative, brilliant, and empowered. They grew as leaders, landed roles they desired, and crafted their futures.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a force for positive change. This year I logged over 100 hours for volunteer and pro bono mentoring and coaching. I mentored students from my alma mater and entered my third year as an executive mentor with the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. I've worked with incredibly passionate startup founders who are truly changing the world. As we begin the next cohort of the accelerator, I've added 1:1 leadership coaching to my work there, helping the founders with their challenges in planning and execution, growing their teams, and finding their unique identities as CEOs.

I’m grateful to have rediscovered my passion for writing and have been sharing my ideas on a variety of topics relevant to leadership, business trends, and personal growth on VantageShift Insights and on Medium. Writing has been a fulfilling way for me to give back, to convey what I’ve learned over my years in corporate leadership roles and help others who are facing or will face some of the same challenges that I overcame.

I’m grateful to the people who have supported the growth of my practice. The amazing cohort of the Power Circle Pilot helped me to refine my ideas around my offerings and I have had many insightful chats with just the nudges I needed for website updates and topics for my writing.

Thank you to all who have been a part of this year of gratitude for me, whether clients, mentees, supporters, friends. I look forward to my continued engagement with you and to the engagements yet to be that will become part of my future story.
